Historic Downtown Sanford® to Partner with Non-Profit Ladies 327 for Fundraising Efforts

The Historic Downtown Sanford® destination marketing network which includes the official Sanford Visitors Guide is partnering with Ladies 327, a Sanford-based 501(c)3 non profit organization to implement a new fundraising program called ‘Play Seminole’ that will focus on producing events and activities that raise funds for local schools and families in need to cover expenses related to sports, performing arts and academic activities in Seminole County Florida.

In order to launch the program, Historic Downtown Sanford® will be donating $1500 and will be supporting a few local organizations in 2022 chosen by the new program director Nico Henao.

“I’m excited to be part of these fundraising events we have planned for 2023 and to make a positive impact on our community along with my brothers and friends who will be assisting me.” said Nico Henao.

Nico is currently an 8th grade student at Galileo Charter School at the Skyway Campus, student actor of the Theater West End Youth & High School Program West End Prep and basketball player originally from the Heathrow Hawks basketball program and currently at The National Basketball Academy Orlando.

“Very proud that my son will be leading this program and contributing his time to things he really cares about” said Will Henao, president and founder of Historic Downtown Sanford®. “In addition, I’m extremely excited to be working with Kim Colegrove and her team at Ladies 327 as I’ve seen their commitment to the community up close as we’re both on the same event production team for many events downtown”.

The programs that will receive donations immediately are:

Galileo School for Gifted Learning: $250
Theater West End Scholarship Fund: $250
Ritz Theater Centennial Member Drive: $250
TNBA Scholarship Fund: $250
Ladies 327: $500

We’re very happy to be bringing on another program that benefits our community and especially one that will be led by young people for young people.” said Kim Colegrove, President of Lades 327, Inc.
