Introducing Scout, new micro-transit service, offering Seminole County residents a more flexible, responsive, and accessible public transportation option. This system will allow riders to request shared trips through a smartphone app (Freebee) or by calling a dedicated phone line (407) 665-RIDE (7433), providing on-demand service within defined zones across the County.
Five Zones, One Countywide Service
Scout operates in five neighborhood-based zones that make it easier to get around Seminole County without relying on a personal car. Zones were drawn around major waterbodies to avoid confusion with city boundaries and to keep communities together. Each zone connects people to schools, parks, hospitals, government offices, and shopping areas.
The five zones are:
Monroe Zone – includes Sanford
Lake Mary Zone – includes Lake Mary and Longwood
Howell Zone – includes Winter Springs, Casselberry, and Longwood
Brantley Zone – includes Altamonte Springs, Longwood, and Casselberry
Econ Zone – includes Oviedo

Scout Buzzes with Trendy Vehicles
Modern, eco-friendly EVs reduce emissions and keep your ride quiet and clean. Seminole County’s on-demand ride service is launching with 35 brand-new vehicles that are built for comfort, style, and sustainability.
The primary fleet will feature the Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric vehicles. These quiet, zero-emission rides bring a fresh look to local streets with bold Scout graphics and plenty of room for passengers.
For riders who need additional accessibility, Scout will also operate Toyota Sienna Hybrid wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs). Each is equipped with ramps and space for mobility devices or strollers, ensuring that every rider can travel safely and comfortably.
Scout’s vehicles are designed for more than just transportation. They represent a smarter way to move, offering clean energy, modern design, and convenience for daily trips across Seminole County.
Connect to SunRail
Scout links directly with SunRail stations in Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Longwood, and Sanford.
For many riders, the toughest part of taking the train is getting to the station and home again afterward. Scout, Seminole County’s new on-demand, rideshare service, is designed to fill that “first mile, last mile” gap.
That makes it easier to connect from your community to the train, without relying on a personal vehicle or limited fixed-route service.
Every trip that starts or ends at a SunRail station will cost just $2 for all riders. Seniors (65+), students, riders with disabilities, and income-eligible residents also receive 50 percent off standard fares, while Access Plus cardholders ride for only $1.
As regional leaders look toward future SunRail expansion to Orlando International Airport and extended weekend and evening service, Scout will help make those connections even more convenient.
With Scout, the first mile and last mile just got a whole lot easier.
Affordable Fares
Base fares will be $4 for trips within the same zone. Trips that cross additional zones will cost $7 for one zone, $10 for two zones, and $14 for three zones. A $1 surcharge may apply during peak travel hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.) or when riders bring extra passengers or large items.
The plan delivers some of the deepest discounts ever offered in County transit. Seniors (65+), students, individuals with disabilities, and income-eligible riders will pay just half price. Access Plus cardholders will ride for $1. All riders will pay only $2 for trips that begin or end at a SunRail station.
