Are you counting down the hours to this weekend? So are we! And let us tell you a few of the things we are most excited about in Historic Downtown Sanford this weekend!
Let’s start off with the big news: starting today (Thursday) there will be a TV production crew exploring Historic Downtown Sanford in order to produce an entire show about your favorite town in Central Florida! Yes, you heard that right: Raw Travel TV will be featuring Sanford! So if you happen to “run into them” wave and say hi 😉 Obviously, they will be covering a lot of the fun that is happening around town including a visit at Hollerbach’s, Shantell’s and many more local businesses! We can’t wait to see the complete episode (of course we will share it as soon as it’s out!)
So where would one go this weekend to have some fun? How about starting Friday off with a delicious Food and Beer Pairing Event, a collaboration of the Tennessee Truffle and Deviant Wolfe Brewing? Then, of course, there’s amazing live music happening all weekend long, so head on over to Tuffy’s to hear Hannah Harber & The Lionhearts!
Our date night suggestion for Friday involves either marshmallows or ghosts – you pick! Take your sweetheart to one of Wondermade’s fabulous Date Night Workshops where you learn to make marshmallows (perfect as dessert to your dinner), or – because the couple that gets scared together, you know… – embark on a Haunted Sanford Historical Ghost Walk through town (holding hands is a must here!).
Saturdays in Sanford are best started with a visit at the Sanford Farmers Market. We love getting to know new vendors every week and rumor has it a very special coffee importer will be there, so skip the morning coffee at home and have some right here in Historic Downtown Sanford! After that, be sure to visit Pedal Driven for their Pedal Driven-One Year Anniversary Party!
Not into bikes, but into cars? Then head on over to the monthly Celery City Cruisers event and admire some of Central Florida’s most gorgeous old timers!
Still in date night mode? How about a Lunch or Dinner Cruise on Lake Monroe? We believe, everyone should experience one of those at some point! And at the Dinner Dance Cruise you even get to dance a little and enjoy the fantastic sunset right over the lake!
Don’t miss the amazing broadway style show featuring the hits of Aretha Franklin at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center later that evening. A Portrait of a Queen: Tribute to Aretha Franklin will have you dancing in your seats!
The Supervillains, The Intracoastals, Tree’s of Life & more will be putting on an awesome show at West End Trading Co. that same night so whatever your taste, Sanford has got your covered (but you already know that, don’t you?).
As you know, Sundays we like to brunch, so check out all the amazing options we have in town (lots of them have bottomless drink specials to put turn Sunday into Funday). We love Luisa’s Cellar, Buster’s, The Smiling Bison and of course Tuffy’s who features delicious pop up brunches every Sunday. And if you missed out on that cruise the day before, there’s a Sunday Luncheon Cruise that has a few free seats waiting for you!
